Our leadership
Michael D. Boekholder
Principal - DERSEN
President - Boekholder & Associates, LLC
Lead designer and consultant, Mike Boekholder brings over 30 years of experience in the grounds industry at the professional level, Mike has a vast knowledge of athletic surface maintenance and design.
Hired as the first Director, Field Operations for the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in 2003, he oversaw the complete construction of the MLB playing surface as well as the ongoing maintenance and renovations of the stadium field for 18 seasons, hosting two World Series. He is an 11-year veteran Head Groundskeeper in Minor League Baseball, having worked for the Indianapolis Indians, Durham Bulls, and Yakima Bears. A 1992 graduate of Central Washington \ University in Ellensburg with a degree in Administrative Management, he is an eight-time minor league “Groundskeeper of the Year.” and a two-time “Triple-A Groundskeeper of the Year” award winner.
Mike is a highly respected speaker and educator in all areas of athletic field design and maintenance. His design company, Boekholder & Associates, provides athletic field design and consulting services to a variety of clients in both the professional and amateur levels of sport.
He holds a Certified Nutrient Management Consultant license in the State of Delaware.
Andrew Christiansen
Principal - DERSEN
Former owner and founder of TurfDogs, LLC, Andrew Christiansen is a 2003 graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
Andrew has over 25 years experience in athletic field design, maintenance, general contracting and construction management. From ground up design and construction to project management, Andrew led and developed one the largest athletic field services companies in the midwest.
Based out of Fishers, Indiana, TurfDogs worked with school corporations, municipalities, professional organizations and many youth athletic groups, ensuring that their playing surfaces were safe, playable and managed efficiently and effectively for the athletes and owners alike.
